AI CRM Pricing Explained: What AI Agents Really Cost
AI CRM pricing is no longer a simple monthly fee per user. Most large CRMs now charge for AI in one of three ways: an extra fee per seat, a pool of credits spent on each action, or a charge for each result the AI delivers. This guide from Camrio explains each model with current published prices. It then works out what 1,000 AI-handled conversations a month would cost and lists what to check before you sign.
The three AI CRM pricing models
AI CRM vendors charge in three ways: per seat, per credit or per outcome. Per-seat AI adds a fixed monthly fee for each user, on top of the CRM seat. Credits are a prepaid balance that each AI action draws from, much like a mobile top-up. Outcome pricing charges only when the AI completes a task, such as resolving a customer's question without passing it to a person.
Salesforce, for example, sells all three at once: its Agentforce pricing page lists Flex Credits, a price per conversation and per-user add-ons side by side.
Per-seat AI: a fixed bill for every user
A per-seat AI fee gives you the same bill each month, whatever the AI does. Salesforce sells Agentforce add-ons for Sales, Service and Field Service at US$125 per user per month, with unmetered use for employees, according to its Agentforce pricing page. Freshworks charges US$29 per agent per month for Freddy AI Copilot on the Freshdesk Pro and Enterprise plans, as shown on the Freshdesk pricing page.
The drawback is that the fee applies to every licensed seat. If 10 people need the CRM but only 3 use the AI each day, you still pay the AI fee for 10.
Credits: you pay for each action the AI takes
Credits tie the bill to usage. HubSpot's Service Hub pricing includes 3,000 credits a month with a Professional subscription and 5,000 with Enterprise. Extra credits cost US$0.010 each, or US$9 per 1,000 when paid annually.
Salesforce sells Flex Credits at US$500 per 100,000. In its own worked examples, one agent action uses 20 credits, or US$0.10, so a customer request that needs two actions costs US$0.20.
Credits keep a quiet month cheap, but one request can take several actions, so a busy month is harder to predict.
Outcome pricing: you pay when the job is done
Outcome pricing charges only for a finished result. HubSpot's Customer Agent works this way: its ROI calculator states that the agent charges 50 credits per resolved conversation, which is US$0.50 at the US$0.010 credit rate.
Per-conversation pricing (a charge each time a customer chats with the AI) and per-session pricing (a charge for each chat session) apply even if the AI does not solve the problem. Salesforce offers customer-facing agents at a flat US$2 per conversation instead of Flex Credits, and one account cannot use both. Freshdesk includes the first 500 Freddy AI Agent sessions, then charges US$49 per 100 sessions.
Under outcome pricing, the vendor's definition of "resolved" decides how many conversations you pay for.
What 1,000 AI conversations a month would cost
Say a 10-person team lets an AI agent handle 1,000 customer conversations a month. The table shows the AI cost alone, from each vendor's published prices, before CRM seats and taxes.
| Vendor and model | How it is counted | AI cost for 1,000 conversations |
|---|---|---|
| HubSpot Customer Agent, Service Hub Professional | 50 credits per resolved conversation; 3,000 credits included | US$470 if all 1,000 resolve (47,000 extra credits) |
| Salesforce Agentforce, Conversations | US$2 per conversation | US$2,000 |
| Salesforce Agentforce, Flex Credits | 20 credits per action; two actions per conversation | US$200 |
| Freshdesk Freddy AI Agent | US$49 per 100 sessions; one session per conversation | US$490 once the 500 included sessions are used |
The lowest and highest figures differ tenfold. The ranking shifts with your assumptions. The Flex Credit figure assumes two actions per conversation; at five actions, each conversation costs US$0.50 and the month costs US$500. HubSpot's figure falls if fewer conversations count as resolved.
Per-seat add-ons come on top: Freddy AI Copilot for 10 agents adds US$290 a month. For the seat cost of a full HubSpot setup for 10 people, see our HubSpot alternative for fintech comparison.
How to estimate your own AI CRM cost
Use last month's figures, not the vendor's example.
- Count your conversations. Split last month's customer conversations by channel: WhatsApp, email and calls.
- Decide what the AI may handle. Mark which conversations must stay with a person. Our guide to what an AI agent does in a CRM shows which tasks teams hand to AI.
- Ask how a conversation is billed. Get each vendor's count of billable units for a typical conversation.
- Price your busiest month. Use your peak month, not your average one. HubSpot credits reset each month and Salesforce Flex Credits do not roll over, so credits bought for a peak that never comes are lost. Salesforce bills usage above your allowance at your contracted rate, monthly after the fact.
- Add WhatsApp charges and taxes. Meta charges for replies an AI sends on WhatsApp in the same way as replies from a person. In India, Meta charges ₹0.115 per reply, before GST, after the first 1,000 a month on each number. Three AI replies in each of the 1,000 conversations above add about ₹230 a month. Where Camrio fits
Camrio's Assistant drafts replies and prepares changes, and a person approves before anything is sent. Inbox Intelligence keeps a summary and a 0–100 purchase-interest score for each conversation. It is included in the Pro plan, which costs US$219 a month billed monthly, or US$175 a month billed yearly, for 10 team members.
Camrio also adds 0% markup to WhatsApp message charges, so the WhatsApp line in your estimate is Meta's own charges and taxes.
